Terms of Service
The rules for using this website, and the working terms for a project — scope, payment, ownership, timelines and the things nobody can promise.
Last updated:
1. These terms
These terms apply when you use webliten.com and when you engage Webliten (“we”, “us”) to design, build or maintain a website. A written proposal or statement of work issued for your project takes precedence over anything inconsistent here.
By using this website or accepting a proposal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or engage our services.
2. Using this website
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system.
- Use automated tools to scrape or copy substantial parts of the site.
- Submit false, misleading or unlawful information through any form.
- Interfere with the site’s availability, including through excessive automated requests.
All content on this website — text, design, layout, code and graphics — belongs to Webliten unless otherwise stated. You may read, share links and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions without written permission.
3. Quotes and proposals
Prices shown on the pricing page are indicative and marked as placeholders until confirmed. A binding price exists only in a written proposal that states a fixed amount and a scope.
- Proposals are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- A proposal describes what is included and, where relevant, what is excluded.
- Work begins only after written acceptance and, where applicable, the initial payment.
4. Payment
- Unless a proposal says otherwise, payment is 50% to begin and 50% before launch.
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue.
- Work may be paused if an invoice is overdue. We will tell you before pausing anything.
- Third-party costs — domain registration, hosting, payment gateway fees, paid fonts or stock images — are charged at cost and are separate from our fees unless a proposal says otherwise.
- Applicable taxes are charged in addition to quoted amounts.
5. Timelines and your responsibilities
A delivery date assumes that content, feedback and approvals arrive on time. To keep a project moving, you agree to provide:
- Business details, service lists, prices and timings.
- Logos, photography and any brand assets you want used.
- One named person who can approve design and content decisions.
- Feedback within three working days of each review request.
If content or feedback is delayed, the delivery date moves by a comparable amount. We will tell you when this happens rather than absorbing it silently and rushing the end of the project.
6. Revisions and scope changes
Each project includes the number of revision rounds stated in the proposal — typically two per stage. A revision means refining what has been agreed, not replacing it.
A change of direction — new pages, a different structure, adding an online store or booking system after the build has started — is a scope change. It will be quoted in writing before work continues, and it may change the timeline.
7. Ownership and handover
On full payment:
- The domain and hosting accounts are registered in your name, or transferred to you.
- The finished website content — text, images you supplied, and the assembled pages — belongs to you.
- Custom code written for your project is licensed to you for use on that website. We retain the right to reuse general techniques, components and know-how, which is standard practice and does not include your content or brand assets.
- Third-party assets — fonts, icons, libraries, stock images — remain under their own licences. We will tell you if something requires an ongoing licence fee.
If you request handover to another developer, we will provide access and answer their questions for up to 14 days after the final invoice is settled.
8. Portfolios and credit
We would like to show the work. Unless you ask us not to, we may display the finished website, a screenshot and a short factual description in our portfolio. We will not publish your analytics, customer data or commercial terms. You can withdraw this permission at any time by emailing us.
9. Care plans and hosting
Care plans are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel with 30 days’ written notice. Hosting is provided through third-party infrastructure; while we choose reliable providers, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
If a care plan lapses, we are not responsible for security updates, backups or content changes made after that point.
10. What we do not promise
We do not guarantee any specific search ranking, traffic volume, conversion rate or revenue. Search results depend on factors outside anyone’s control, including Google’s systems and competitors’ behaviour. Anyone offering a guaranteed position is not describing something they can deliver.
Where we provide estimates — timelines, savings calculators, rough ranges — they are estimates, clearly labelled as such.
11. Liability
We provide our services with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a project is limited to the fees paid to us for that project in the preceding twelve months.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profit, lost data caused by third-party providers, or losses arising from changes you make to a delivered website after handover.
12. Termination
Either party may end an engagement in writing. If you terminate:
- Work completed up to that point is payable.
- Deposits are non-refundable once design or development has begun, because the time has been spent.
- Any third-party costs already incurred are payable.
We may end an engagement if a project involves unlawful content, abusive behaviour, or repeated non-payment, and will explain why in writing.
13. Confidentiality
We treat your business information, pricing and customer data as confidential. We will not disclose it to third parties except where needed to deliver the work (for example, hosting or payment providers) or where legally required.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Before pursuing a formal dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter in good faith through direct discussion.
